Still More of Nicole deBoer and "The Dead Zone"

Nicole

I wanted to focus on Sarah Bannerman, my favorite character.  Why is she my favorite?  Perhaps in part, it's because I liked Ezri Dax so much, but that's not the whole story.  No, it's also because I like now natural deBoer fits into this role.

This should be no surprise.  Nicole deBoer started her acting career as a young child, so she's not one of those ladies who is hired simply due to their looks.  Mind you, she's certainly a lovely lady, and in my opinion, a terribly underrated TV beauty.  Still, she seems to simply fall into this role, and portrays Sarah's inner conflicts with skill and style.

Besides, I've always liked the appeal of simple down-home characters who try to do right by the people around them.

Before she married Sheriff Bannerman, she was Sarah Bracknell, a music teacher at the school where Johnny taught science.  I thought she was credible in this role—an undeniably attractive woman, but not so glamorous as to be unbelievable as a teacher and a homemaker.  One could really see why a guy like Johnny would fall for her wholesome charm, her basic decency, and her compassion.
